The Children in Balance Initiative was launched in March 2005 with a $5 million gift from the New Balance Foundation to Tufts University to enhance childhood nutrition. The mission is to reverse and prevent childhood obesity utilizing advanced scientific research that will empower individuals and communities to catalyze social change.

is a national program designed as a one-stop resource for parents and caregivers interested in practical tools to help children 8-13 years old stay at a healthy weight.

This non-profit organization's mission is to help Maine children develop life-long habits of health, education, and fitness through outdoor winter activities.  Their flagship program, the WinterKids Passport, lets every Maine 5th, 6th, and 7th grader enjoy free alpine and cross-country skiing all winter long.
