Start Fit Stay Fit

 Introduction

‘Start Fit Stay Fit’ is a subcommittee of the Move More Project comprised of representatives from local public health non-profits, hospitals, and other health-related businesses working on ways to collaboratively combat the childhood obesity epidemic. We all agree that promoting the already existing wealth of resources focusing on good nutrition and physical activity practices will bring us closer to this goal. We believe that primary care providers can play an important role in stimulating the use of such resources as they are already connected with the kids and families that stand to benefit from participation. With these ideas in mind we have developed the ‘Community Menu of Options,’ a program that currently exists as a directory of pertinent local resources with relevant information for primary care providers, supplemented by two brochures to be handed out to interested families. We are continually working to improve the program and looking for additional ways to fight childhood obesity. Please find the links and information below which include the current Menu of Options documents and ways that you can help us reach these very important goals.
